Nokia 2.3 getting Android 11 update

HMD Global, the company which holds the license to manufacture Nokia smartphones, started rolling out Android 11 update for its budget smartphone Nokia 2.3.

The company took to Twitter to make the official announcement about the Android 11 rollout.

Nokia Mobile tweeted, “Nokia 2dot3 users say hello to Android 11. Your device is ready for all the latest software features. What will you do first with the latest upgrade? Let us know.”

The company will be rolling out the update in a phased manner. The first wave countries that will receive the update include Bangladesh, Cambodia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Hong Kong, Iceland, Latvia, Laos, Lithuania, Macau, Malaysia, Nepal, Norway, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Sweden, Vietnam.

The company also confirmed that the left out countries will get the update in the second wave.

So, this means that the Nokia 2.3 users in India will have to wait a little longer to experience Android 11 on their smartphones.

To recall, Nokia 2.3 was launched in 2019 and this is the second major software update for the smartphone. Nokia 2.3 is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio A22 processor. The smartphone packs 2GB RAM and 32GB internal storage.

The handset sports a dual rear camera with 13MP primary sensor and 5MP secondary sensor. The front is home to a 5MP selfie camera. The smartphone is backed by a 4000mah battery.

Meanwhile, HMD Global is all set to launch new Nokia phones like Nokia X10, X20 5G on April 8. The company has scheduled an online event where the company is expected to launch new Nokia smartphones.

While there is no confirmation from the company on which smartphones are expected to be launched, a report by NokiaPowerUser has claimed that the firm is going to launch three handsets at the event as part of two new smartphone series — X-series and G-series.
